We Innovate and Customise our Programs to benefit your students.
To better cater to many partner schools we work with today, we have customized our flagship programs to suit different crowds. We recognize the fact that different schools and students have a variety of needs, priorities, background, culture, best practices, teacher-student interaction, learning preferences and much more.
As such, it is difficult to have just one program to fit the requirements of every single individual. At the same time, it would require resources of gastronomical proportions to fully customize a workshop that will meet the needs and wants of everyone. Thus, we have categorized our programs according to needs of students according to the following criteria while taking into consideration the unique culture and values that every school possesses.
1. Current Grades
The hope is for every student in the cohort to achieve the desired straight As. Based on their current grades, it gives us at AKLTG a benchmark of where they are right now and what kind of strategies it will take to reach the final positive outcome. For example, the learning strategy of a student who aims to achieve 60/100 from 40/100 will be very different from another student who aspires to score 80/100 from 65/100. It would be therefore naïve to apply the same template on both students in the hope of achieving the same result.
2. Current attitude towards learning
This is subjective based on how their teachers perceive the students’ behaviour in the classroom and this gives us an indicator the congruence of their behaviour during the program. This will then help to fact find and clarify where the gap is and how we can rectify it. Measurement ranges from 1 to 10 where 1 is a very apathetic, could not care less negative attitude and a 10 which describes a very enthusiastic, proactive and willing to learn attitude.
3. Learning preferences
This is usually discovered during the program where based on Dunn & Dunn learning preferences, it can help to determine the students’ dominant learning modality which helps to customize the delivery of the program to suit their learning style.
4. Aptitude of students according to stream
Based on their current stream, (HA, MA and LA for primary schools) and (Express, Normal Academics and Normal Technical), it determines what objectives are of top priority. It would be of course ideal to cover everything in the program to maximize benefits but it could be counterproductive for students if they do not find it relevant for them. Also, it would be more realistic to help them gain aptitude at a competent level rather than skimming at the awareness stage.
5. School's focus of the program
Working with schools as a training partner rather than a vendor, we aim to customize the programs that can help to infuse the school values and inculcate and reinforce the positive culture that the school administration advocates. Rather than using a regular template in the program, teachers can help provide valuable insights and information about the students to help us focus more in certain areas to create a more effective and fruitful training partnership for everyone.
